Great Messianic Movement

Messianic Judaism is a movement of Jewish Worshippers who believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah of Israel and the Saviour of mankind who believe in worshipping the God of Abraham-Isaac-Jacob. Yeshua is the most Jewish of Jews. Yeshua was a descendant of both Abraham and King David, was raised in a Jewish home and went to synagogue. He perfectly kept the entire Torah (see Galatians 4:4). He taught that He came to fulfill, not set aside, the Torah and the Prophets (see Matthew 5:17-19)… “Came to fulfill” here is to teach and apply the law in one personal life ref. – Matthew 23:2-3

“The scribes and the Pharisees sat on Moses seat, and all things they tell you to observe; observe and do, but do not do their works because even though they teach the right thing they do not observe it themselves.”

They Messiah pronounce woes on them in most of his statements on the Scribes and the Pharisees – Matt. 23:14-17. He was a rabbi (good teacher) who performed unparalleled miracles, bringing great blessing to the nation of Israel. All His early disciples also lived very Jewish lives. The Messianic movement was entirely Jewish at its inception, and continued to exist as an authentic Jewish movement for 700 years after Yeshua’s death and resurrection. Messianic Jews have not stopped being Jewish. On the contrary, we remain strongly Jewish in our identity and lifestyle. All Gentiles who believe in the Son of G-d need to be grafted into the Messianic Movement (Church) ref. Romans 11:16-18;Rom. 2:28-29. Apostle Paul called it the Olive Tree. The Tanach (the Old Testament Scriptures) provides the foundation of our Jewish faith, and the New Covenant Scriptures (which were also written by Jews) the completion of our Jewish faith. In fact, the Hebrew Scriptures themselves affirm that they are not complete, but that God was going to make a New Covenant with the Jewish people (Jeremiah 31:31-34). We believe that the Sinai covenant, upon which much of traditional (Rabbinic) Judaism is based, is a broken covenant. Therefore the New Covenant given to Moses included the Gentile believers. There is no Temple and there are no sacrifices by which we can be brought near to God and experience genuine atonement. In contrast, we believe that God already established this New Covenant by means of Yeshua’s death and resurrection. He died and rose again to atone for our sins through repentance, so that we can enter into this New Covenant relationship with G-d. We believe that Yeshua ascended to the right hand of God the Father and is coming back to Earth to reign from Jerusalem over Israel and all the nations of the world. At that time the fullness of the New Covenant will be realized.

Is There A Difference Between Messianic Judaism And Christianity?

In one sense, Messianic Judaism and Christianity should be the same thing. There should be only one faith. Messianic Jews and Christians should share the same core beliefs. Anyone who believe that The G-d of Abraham Isaac and Jacob have sent Yeshua and continue to apply the WORD of The Eternal God (The Law and the Prophets belong to the Messianic Jew. Apostle Paul wrote that one must be a Jew in his heart – Rom.2:28-29 Yeshua is the WORD of G-d of Israel and by His WORD all things were created – John 1:1-5; John 5:46-47. Messianic Judaism is the same faith but it is expressed within the Jewish heritage.

Christianity has been plagued with Replacement Theology (Human institution) Ref… Mark 7:6-13. 6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. 8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” 9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own tradition. 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ 11 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— 12 then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. 13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Replacement Theology

  • Do you believe that God has fundamentally replaced the Old Testament with the New Testament?
  • Do you believe that God replaced Israel, cast them into the nations, and now manifests His will through the Gentile nations with the Church?
  • Do you believe that God replaced animal sacrifices in the temple with the sacrifice of the Messiah for sin?
  • Do you believe that the Old Testament has been replaced by the New Testament as the primary teaching text of the faith?
  • Do you believe that the Messiah replaced the Law of Moses with the Law of Christ?
  • Do you believe that the teachings in the books of Galatians and Hebrews have justified the replacement of the Law of Moses at Mount Sinai?
  • Do you believe that spirit-filled prophetic preachers of today have replaced the prophets of Israel?
  • Do you believe that church theologians have the authority to replace written commandments in the Old Testament or the New Testament?
  • Do you believe that the Grace of God has replaced the Law of God for today?
  • Do you believe that first day worship (Sunday) has replaced the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday)?
If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you are still a participant in Replacement Theology.
